Digital Imaging and Diagnostic Technology
3D Imaging and 3D CAT Scan
Our 3D Cone Beam CT (CBCT) imaging allows us to view detailed, three-dimensional images of the teeth, jaw, airway, temporomandibular joints, and surrounding structures. Unlike traditional two-dimensional X-rays, this technology provides a complete view of the anatomy of the head and neck. It helps us diagnose conditions more accurately and plan treatments such as implants, root canals, airway evaluations, and TMJ assessments with greater precision.
Digital X-Ray and Digital Radiography
Digital radiography uses advanced sensors instead of traditional photographic film to capture high-resolution dental images instantly. This technology significantly reduces radiation exposure while improving image clarity and diagnostic accuracy. Digital X-rays allow our team to identify decay, infections, bone loss, and other dental conditions early.
NOMAD Pro Handheld X-Ray
The NOMAD Pro is a handheld X-ray device that allows us to capture accurate radiographic images quickly and efficiently. Its portability allows our dental team to position the device easily for optimal image capture while improving comfort and convenience during your visit.
AI Technology
AI-supported dental imaging tools assist our doctors in analyzing diagnostic images more thoroughly. Artificial intelligence can help identify patterns, highlight areas of concern, and support early detection of dental conditions. When combined with clinical expertise, AI technology enhances our ability to provide precise and proactive care.
Joint Vibration Analysis
Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) is a specialized diagnostic test used to evaluate the health and function of the temporomandibular joints (TMJ). During this quick, non-invasive test, small sensors are placed near the jaw joints to measure vibrations while the patient opens and closes their mouth. The data helps identify potential joint dysfunction and supports accurate diagnosis of TMJ disorders.
Laraway Family Dentistry works with BioRESEARCH to bring you fast and accurate screening of the TMJs (Temporomandibular joints) with the help of the JVA.
Our Joint Vibration Analysis device (or “JVA”) is a specialized device used to take recordings of the vibrations occurring within the temporomandibular joints during opening and closing movements.
The JVA is a simple 2-minute non-invasive test where headphone-like sensors are placed on both jaw joints, and the patient is instructed to open and close a few times.
Digital Dentistry and Treatment Planning
Digital Impressions and Digital Scanning
Digital impressions allow us to capture highly detailed images of your teeth and gums without the need for messy impression materials. Using advanced digital scanners, we create precise 3D models that can be used for restorations, appliances, and treatment planning. Digital impressions improve patient comfort and allow restorations to be fabricated with exceptional accuracy.
iTero Digital Scanner
The iTero digital scanner produces detailed 3D images of the teeth and gums and is commonly used for restorative planning, orthodontic treatment, and digital impressions. The system allows our team to quickly gather accurate information while providing a more comfortable experience than traditional impression techniques.
3D Printer
Our 3D printing technology allows us to transform digital treatment plans into precise physical models and appliances. This technology helps us create surgical guides, dental appliances, and treatment models with improved accuracy and efficiency.
In-House Lab
Our in-house dental laboratory allows us to design and fabricate many restorations directly within our practice. By working closely with digital scans and advanced fabrication systems, we can produce crowns, appliances, and other dental components more efficiently than traditional off-site laboratories.
This streamlined process improves communication between the dentist and lab technician, shortens turnaround times, and helps ensure restorations are customized precisely to your bite and smile.
T-Scan Computerized Occlusal Analysis
The T-Scan Bite Analysis System evaluates how your teeth come together when you bite and chew. Unlike traditional articulation paper that only shows where teeth touch, the T-Scan records a digital analysis of the timing and force of your bite. This allows us to identify areas where teeth may be hitting too hard or unevenly, helping prevent tooth wear, fractures, and jaw discomfort.
Laser Dentistry Technology
Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry allows us to perform many soft tissue and therapeutic procedures with exceptional precision. Compared with traditional methods, laser technology can reduce bleeding, swelling, and discomfort while supporting faster healing.
Fotona Laser
Fotona laser technology is a versatile system used for soft tissue procedures, gum therapy, and airway-focused treatments. Laser-assisted care often improves comfort while promoting faster recovery and reduced inflammation.
Biolase Laser
Biolase laser systems allow us to perform certain dental procedures with a minimally invasive approach. This technology supports periodontal treatment and soft tissue procedures while improving precision and patient comfort.
Picasso Laser
The Picasso laser is commonly used for periodontal and cosmetic gum treatments. It can be used for gum disease therapy, gum contouring, soft tissue procedures, and cold sore treatment. Laser treatment allows for greater precision and faster healing compared with traditional methods.
MLS Cold Laser Therapy
MLS Cold Laser Therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain in the teeth, muscles, and jaw joints. The therapy works by stimulating cellular healing using therapeutic light energy, making it an effective drug-free option for managing discomfort.
NightLase
NightLase is a laser-based treatment designed to improve airway function and reduce snoring by gently tightening oral soft tissues. This non-invasive therapy can help support better breathing during sleep and improve overall sleep quality.
Specialized Diagnostic and Treatment Technology
Morita Apex Locator
The Morita Apex Locator is used during root canal treatment to accurately measure the length of the root canal. When combined with 3D imaging, this technology allows us to perform root canal procedures with exceptional precision while preserving healthy tooth structure.
Genetic Testing and Biocompatibility Testing
As part of our holistic approach to dentistry, we offer genetic and biocompatibility testing to help determine which dental materials are best suited for your body. Tests such as the Clifford Materials Reactivity Test help identify potential sensitivities to dental materials, while ELISA and ACT testing can detect delayed immune responses. This allows us to select materials that support your overall health.
Why Dental Technology Matters
Advanced dental technology helps us deliver care that is more comfortable, efficient, and precise. Modern tools improve early detection, enhance treatment planning, support minimally invasive procedures, and help ensure restorations fit naturally and function properly. For patients, this means a better experience, greater confidence in treatment, and care that supports both oral and overall health.
